Hogna burti is a species of wolf spider in the family Lycosidae. It is endemic to Australia and is a fast, ground-dwelling hunter that does not build webs to catch prey. Instead, it relies on keen eyesight and vibration sensing to locate and pursue small invertebrates on the ground, usually becoming most active at night.

Like other wolf spiders, it has a robust body, strong legs, and prominent forward-facing eyes that help it detect movement. Adults are typically medium to large in size, with females usually larger and more heavily built than males. Colouration is generally earthy brown to grey, often with darker mottling or striping that provides camouflage against soil and leaf litter.
